January 2025 Mid-Month Update

Welcome to our January 2025 PirateCat Publishing update!

I'm so grateful to have you all here in this brand new year.

Let's dive into this month's updates!

Coming Soon to PirateCat:

NEW episodes of Fate Rising and Torn Fate: Guardians of Miralore will be launching inside PirateCat within the next few weeks!

For those new to PirateCat or my serials, here's a quick rundown of each of these stories:

• Fate Rising is an urban fantasy/contemporary fantasy set in my Leyward Stones story world. (This is an Irish-folklore-inspired story world, though I've put my own spin on the lore and legends.) Like all PirateCat stories, this is written for Young Adult audiences.

  • Fate Rising is the second serial I've written in the Leyward Stones world.

    • Because of that, you may see me refer to Fate Rising as "Season 2" of Leyward Stones, though eventually it will be Leyward Stones, Books 4-6 when the serial is completed. ("Season 1" is in PirateCat as Leyward Stones, Books 1-3.) That said, it CAN be read as a standalone. I intentionally constructed Seasons 1 & 2 as their own entry points into the series and story world.

  • I've completed "Part 1" of Fate Rising, and had written the first few episodes of "Part 2" before going on hiatus last year. (Everything I've written of this serial so far is already available in PirateCat!) I'll be picking up right where I left off when this story comes off of hiatus!

• Torn Fate is a standalone contemporary fantasy serial set in its own story world.

  • There are 20 episodes currently written of this serial (all already available in PirateCat!), which puts us about halfway through the planned content for this story.

  • I'll be picking up right where I left off when this story comes off of hiatus!

I'm wrapping up another writing project this week, and then I'll soon be hard at work writing new episodes of Fate Rising and Torn Fate, and getting both of these stories prepped to resume posting!

I'm most likely going to stagger the timing of when each of these stories comes off of hiatus, but I'm aiming to have regular, weekly episodes posting again for at least one of these stories by mid-February at the latest. Then I'll be bringing the second story off hiatus once the first is solidly up and running again.
