Here to Stay

Once we arrived at the hospital, they wheeled Xavier into a room to work on him but forced me to wait outside the waiting room. I paced until Griffin and Cros arrived, then Cros joined me in the pacing. This was the reason I never went to the zoo; seeing the animals penned up and pacing, I understood it on another level. I always felt as if I lived in a cage, forced to be something I’m not to hide from the humans—the normal humans.
