Grandpa Robert decided he would drive back to the lake house since Max and I were exhausted in more ways than one. He never questioned what happened between us after he gave us privacy, he didn’t have to. It was pretty obvious. He also didn’t care that we immediately fell asleep in the back seat. I think he was simply happy to know he would be with his family for Christmas.
